    NORMAN, Okla., May 17, 2012 -- Moore Norman Technology Center Accounting Services student Trevor Herrian was awarded the Nancy Liner Memorial Scholarship today during a Business Professionals of America award ceremony at MNTC. This scholarship recognizes a student who demonstrates excellence in the Accounting Services curriculum.

  • DECA Students Place in State Competition, Attend Nationals

    (NORMAN, Okla.) May 3, 2012 – High school and adult students enrolled in Moore Norman Technology Center’s Entrepreneurship class recently competed in the 2012 DECA State Leadership Conference.

    Six students who place at state had the chance to compete in the International Career Development Conference April 28-May 1 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Norman High School senior Phillip Snow was one of the six who qualified for national competition.

  • Instructor Bridgette Cannon Earns Tech Schools Teacher of the Year Award

    (NORMAN, Okla.) May 7, 2012 -- Moore Norman Technology Center’s Bridgette Cannon earned the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Technology Schools Teacher of the Year Award, as honors in multiple categories were presented at SOKCC’s annual Excellence in Education award banquet.

    Cannon has taught the full-time Dental Lab Technology class at MNTC for 14 years. She is active with Health Occupations Students of America and helping with fund raisers and competitive student events.

  • Entrepreneurship Students Earn National Standing

May 2, 2012 – Six students enrolled in Moore Norman Technology Center’s Entrepreneurship class were recently notified that they scored in the top 20 percent of students nationwide on an exam through the National Financial Capability Challenge through the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

  • MNTC's Barker Awarded the Nancy Chess Community Service Award

    (NORMAN, Okla.) April 30, 2012 – Joan Barker was recently awarded the the Nancy Chess Community Service Award through the Norman Sooner Rotary Club for her service to the Norman community. Sooner Rotary presents this annual award to someone who best exemplifies the volunteer and community spirit of the late Nancy Chess. She succumbed to cancer in 2002 after a lifetime of service and dedication to her community and to social issues.

  • BDC's Chloeta Fire Earns SBA National Young Entrepreneur of the Year

  • MNTC FIRST Robotics Team Visits Lt. Gov; Gives Demo

    (NORMAN, Okla.) April 23, 2012  --  Moore Norman Technology Center Pre-Engineering students had the opportunity to visit with Lt. Gov. Todd Lamb today at the State Capitol and give him a demonstration of the robot that they designed, and used for competition, during the 2012 FIRST Robotics Oklahoma Regional Competition in March.

  • MNTC Conservation Program Saving Energy Dollars

    Moore Norman Technology Center administration and board members announced March 15 that the system has saved more than $137,000 in the first 8 months of its energy conservation and management program. The successful cost-saving program is implemented through a partnership with Energy Education, a leading behavioral and people-focused energy conservation company whose Transformational Energy Management® process has saved more than $2 billion for educational and complex organizations.

  • MNTC Auto Service Technology Students Earn Scholarships

    Three Moore Norman Technology Center Automotive Service Technology students have earned scholarships; two through the MNTC Business and Education Council and one through the Michael Walls Scholarship.

    Daniel Flores earned a $1,000 scholarship and Caleb Smith earned a $500 scholarship and they were presented with the honors this week. The scholarships may be used to purchase automotive industry tools or for continuing education.

  • Career Exploration Class Holds Donation Drive for Homeless Shelter

    Moore Norman Technology Center's Career Exploration Education classes are holding a donation drive from now through April 6, with all donations going to Norman’s Food and Shelter for Friends.

    To help FSFF in preparation for the coming months of summer heat, the CEE class will accept clothes, shoes, water bottles, toiletries, back packs and nonperishable items to their classroom located at MNTC’s Franklin Road Campus, Entrance D, Room 108.
