The curriculum is designed to introduce elements of creative writing in an accessible format and encourage new writers to learn basic writing skills while exploring individual creativity.

The instructor's goal is to create a challenging but non-threatening environment using easy-to-assimilate lessons, energy-sparking exercises and positive reinforcement to enable novice writers to discover what they can do with the written word.

Following the introduction of topics, a practical overview is provided. Students will participate with the instructor, who is a published author, to allow them to explore needs and establish a foundation for upcoming exercises. Students will be able to receive feedback on their writing sample if desired.
