Veterinary Assistant (High School Only)

Veterinary assistants feed and bathe animals, along with cleaning and sanitizing kennels, equipment, labs and surgical areas. They are responsible for assisting the veterinary team with preventive care, animal nursing care and post surgical care, and they assist with diagnostic procedures in the lab or radiological areas. Depending on the facility, the assistant may perform clerical duties such as answering the phone, stocking and ordering supplies, and scheduling.
