Production Artist

This career major prepares students for executing the plans created by graphic designers. Production Artists typically reproduce the layout and design of magazines, newspapers, newspaper ads, catalogs, logos, and signs. They use design software programs to produce technically accurate files to ensure accuracy and timeliness of the projects they create. It is important that they have good design skills and layout sense, as they will be working closely with art directors and graphic designers.
