This career major helps students acquire the terminology and knowledge of legal office procedures needed to assist attorneys and paralegals. Students learn the advanced skills needed to produce legal pleadings and documents, and to hone their verbal and non-verbal communication techniques. Students learn legal specialties areas like: litigation, torts, family law, criminal law, real estate, and bankruptcy. Students gain the skills for industry-related certifications like ALS (Accredited Legal Secretary), which is the basic certification for legal professionals.
