This career major provides advanced level training and prepares students as Advanced CNC Machinist specializing in CNC production work. Students will interpret industry prints, create and edit machine programs, and make adjustments to produce highly accurate parts by utilizing Computerized Numerical Control, or CNC machines. Instruction includes, advanced shop mathematics, precision measurement, advanced machine tool theory, print reading, material preparation, and machine control language. Students will also learn about advanced manufacturing fundamentals, advanced setups, tool selection, and part inspection.
