Database Administrator

This career major prepares students to perform database administration duties such as planning, testing and coordinating database management systems and implementing security measures to safeguard computer databases. Students in this major create relational databases using SQL and PL/SQL programming and work through administration workshop strategies. Students plan, install, configure, troubleshoot and upgrade services for networks while gaining the technical skills required for industry certification in Oracle, Microsoft, CIW, CompTIA and Novell.

Database Associate

This career major prepares students to design and develop databases. Students create relational databases and use SQL and PL/SQL to perform queries and manipulate data, plus, they apply a variety of modeling languages using graphic modeling software. Upon completion of this major, students will have the technical skills required for industry certification and may choose among Oracle, Microsoft, and CIW database certifications.

Database Business Analyst

This career major prepares students to guide businesses to utilize their database systems, and establish necessary hardware and software standards. They manage information found on computer systems to ensure that the information is easily understood, accessible and accurate. They must also know how all of the database systems interact and make sure the systems technology is up-to-date, in order for information to be efficiently transferred.
