Computer Programmer (Multiple Languages)

This career major prepares students to develop and write computer programs to store, locate and retrieve specific data. Students implement and write programs using Java and/or other programming languages. They effectively use the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and software patterns to improve software development. Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools are also used. Students learn to analyze and test software. Students gain skills required for the Sun Certified Java Associate (SCJA) certification.

Java Programmer (Entry Level)

This career major involves entry level programming that specializes in the Java programming language. These positions, under supervision, perform various Java software development tasks throughout the development lifecycle, which includes: requirements gathering, data analysis, software design, database design, software development, unit testing, QA testing, deployment, and documentation.
